mid-April 2015 GUL update

Thought I'd keep you up to date down in the basement plant lab.

You can see in the 1st pic that the greens, onions and a geranium cutting are doing just fine.

A peek at the breakfast radishes show they are ready to harvest.  Should be tasty with some of the arugula, beet and chard greens.

The tomatoes have sprouted pretty well, if a little leggy.  I didn't have any luck with the frozen San Marzano seeds.  I did get lucky at WalMart though, picking up a pack of fresh SM seeds along with 2 packs of Cut-n-come again zinnias.

Under the other lights are the (saved) State Fair zins, and the (bought) Zahara zins.  (Note, of the 70 Zahara seeds, on 3 failed to germinate.  At that price they OUGHT to be that reliable!) 

Also there is a tray of dwarf French marigolds and a mixed tray of sweet peppers, pot tomatoes, the little unknown annual and some lavender sprouts.

Last pic - the germinator loaded up with the cut-n-come agains zins and the SM seeds.

I looked back to GUL updates from 2010-2012.  Good grief you can see how the freaking deer have really taken all the wind out of my sails.

Oh well, what'r'ya gonna do?

Saturday update.  The SM toms sown Wednesday and the C&C zins sown Thursday all popped up on Saturday morning.  I just GOTTA remember to buy fresh seed more often!
